Mr. Kuntz has 24 years of public and private experience, including 20 years of honorable military experience and 18 years of emergency management. Major disasters include Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike as well as numerous flooding and severe weather events. Other significant events include the space shuttle disaster, 9/11 response, dignitary and significant sporting events coordination

Currently serving as a Senior Director specializing in Emergency Response, FEMA Public Assistance, and FEMA HMGP projects.  Providing these services as part of the response team for various projects including the 2015 flooding in South Carolina.
 
Texas Division of Emergency Management, State Coordinator of Recovery 
Performed advanced (senior-level) managerial work by providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning.  Work involved establishing the strategic plan and goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and reviewing and approving budgets.  Work with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 
 
Department of Homeland Security – FEMA, Planning Chief – Louisiana Recovery Office
Provided the overall collection, evaluation and dissemination of all operational and planning information concerning the recovery of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ike and Isaac in order to understand the current situation, predict incident course, and to supervise in the preparation of response objectives and strategies.

Department of Defense, Assigned duty station Governor’s Office of Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure Coordinator / Plans & Operations Officer
Responsible for coordinating with local, state and federal leaders to develop and facilitate homeland security initiatives to better prepare against terrorist and natural threats. Operations Officer for the Louisiana Army National Guard Tactical Command Post located at the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security.

Louisiana Army National Guard, JointForces Headquarters/ J-3 Operations – Captain 0-3, Infantry 
Responsible for the leadership, training, and planning of all units scheduled for deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Personally responsible for developing training plans and rescue operations for the Louisiana Army National Guard during emergency and non-emergency operations.
